Dacoits and Autolifters’ Gang Busted
Sonepat: Sonepat police busted a gang of dacoits and autolifters yesterday. Robberies and cases of autolifting were increasing much in the district. As a result police checking was done at various check posts. A Maruti Alto car was signalled to stop at Delhi-Haryana border as it caught the police attention. The driver speeded up but was chased two cars from Meerut and Ghaziabad. He also disclosed that their gang had ten members and they had been operating in Meerut, Ghaziabad and border towns of Haryana since 2000. The police recovered stolen goods worth twenty-five lakhs from various places. Their gang leader is yet to be arrested. At the moment I am writing my Examination paper in the Examination Hall. The paper is of English. I am sitting in the second row writing my answer. This room opens in the long corridor. It is situated on the second floor or my school building. It is rectangular in shape. It has a seating capacity of about fifty students. The white colour on the wall makes the room well-lighted. The sun rays fall through the six windows. These make the room well-lighted and well-ventilated.
There is a long table in front of me, besides the black board on the wall. On it is written ‘Best of Luck’. There are beautiful ‘shlokas’ written on the wall. The room has fixed benches in rows in an ascending order. The seating is comfortable. Wafts of fresh air enter the room. There is no noise now in it. Everything is calm and quiet because the examination is on.
Around me to my left and right, in front of and behind are sitting other examinees. They are busy writing their paper. There is some slight murmur here and there. It is inaudible in the sound of chirping by birds. The whole scene is of seriousness and full concentration of the examinees.

India is a great country as far as weather and tourist spots are concerned. In one comer we have summer, in the other we have winter. Then there are scenes of deserts and scenes of wild nature in its great gloiy. Places of historical importance are in plenty. India’s glorious past comes alive when we visit these places.
But it is really sad that terrorism has affected these places of tourist importance. There are daily news in the newspapers about the sad plight of tourist spots in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir being near to Pakistan is a hot spot of terrorism. There are bomb blasts almost daily in the parts of Kashmir. Innocent lives are lost without their fault. Children become orphans and women widows.
Tourists are a constant source of bread and butter for the people living in them. Their not going there means loss of livelihood to those people. Terrorism has no human face. The govt, no doubt, is doing its utmost to provide security to such places. But a lot more needs to be done.
The information gathering mechanism at both centre and state levels needs to be strengthened. Highly sophisticated gadgets should be procured to intercept the terrorists’ communications. Army should be deployed at most sensitive areas. Terrorists are humanity’s enemies. They should be crushed with an iron hand.

5 More College, University soon in Delhi
At last students shall have some relief in seeking admission to colleges in Delhi since 5 more colleges are coming up. This was disclosed by the Human Resource Development Minister at his Press Conference yesterday. He also disclosed that the setting up of another University in West Delhi has also been cleared by the Union Cabinet. It shall be completed by 2018. The proposed University shall be both residential and affiliating in nature.
The Minister lamented that the educational and academic standards have been falling at a great speed. Education was safe from social evils in the past but this is not true today. After entering the ATM room, insert your ATM card in the slot of ATM machine (where you can see a blinking green light in the machine). Then on the screen select the language you want to do the transaction for. Now the machine will ask for your secret PIN code number. Enter your PIN number. After that on the screen select the mode of transaction, from the options given like withdraw, deposit, balance enquiry, bill payment etc. Click on withdrawal cash from the option. On the screen it will show various types of account, like saving or current account.
Then choose saving account. Then it will ask for the amount you want to withdraw. Here make sure that the amount you are entering is not more than your main balance. And press correct options, now the money comes out from the dispenser machine. Collect your money before 30 seconds. Then collect your card and the statement from the dispenser machine. Noise pollution has become one of the big problems in India, affecting the human lives in many ways. We all should know the causes, effects and most importantly the preventive measures of the noise pollution in order to get prevented from the effect of it. Normal level of the sound is necessary to maintain the daily lives, however undesired sound or noise which is not tolerated by the people, animals or plants which causes noise pollution.
In India many festivals and small or big functions are celebrated with great enthusiasms. The use of loud speaker or band is usually used at the time of festivals or functions. High level sound creates unpleasant effects and discomfort to the health especially to the ears. Though the people enjoy the event who takes part in it but many suffer due to this. New generation people play music in full volume and dance late night causing lots of physical and mental disturbances to the neighbours. Mostly it is annoying and inconvenience caused to several people, mainly to the students. Many a time the loudspeakers are used both during night and day by some people. The old age people and the students mainly suffer the most.
The students who are having examination or facing competitive examination, they are not able to concentrate well in their studies, at times when loudspeakers are on high volume. High level of noise slowly affects the health and acts as a slow poison. However, a strict action should be taken for the use of loudspeakers or there should be a restriction on hours as well as volume at which the loudspeakers can play. This is also a way we can keep our environment free and clean from noise pollution.

Cricket match has became a religion with our youth. Yesterday an interesting Cricket match was played between our school Maharshi Parsuram H. S. and Maharaja Agrasen H.S. at our cricket ground. It was twenty-twenty match. The match drew a huge enthusiastic crowd. Student from both the school had gathered there in large numbers even before the match started. The toss was called. We won the toss. Rajesh and Mukesh opened the innings. Rajesh hit the very first ball over the heads of the fielders for a six. Mukesh also opened his account with a cover drive, and then came the sudden collapse we lost four wickets within an over. But our captain Swarup played well and turned the tide.
He scored half century gave us a respectable total of 160 runs. Now Maharaja Agrasen H. S. started the innings in a great style. Their openers were in a furious mood. When there was 50 for no loss, no one could hope for a victory. But then the most unexpected did take place. Their half of the team was out at 80. Soon a quick knock of 40 by Raj gave them a new hope, but it proved fatel. Our bowlers were again on the top Maharaja Agrasen H. S. was bundled out on 145 runs. We won by a narrow margin in the 20th over. But a victory is always sweet. The members of both the teams had a light refreshment.

Hence water cannot percolate down the plastic sheet and it also deprives the soil of the oxygen. Thus it deterio-rates the fertility of the land. Plastic is lighter than water and floats on its surface. It stops mixing of vital oxygen from air to water. Plastic can neither melt in water nor degrade in soil. It is very difficult to get rid of it. Even burning causes air pollution as many poisonous gases are produced in the process. 1. A tree is a woody plant usually with a single stem. A large area well covered with woody plants is a forest. The woody plants called shrubs and bushes are smaller than trees and have usually more than one main stem. Trees are the largest living things on the Earth, and they live longer than any animal. The tallest trees are mountain ashes. Which have grown to well over 330 feet. The oldest trees are the Californian pines, some of which are more than 4,500 years old.
The age of a tree can be told by counting the rings in the trunk. In most kinds of temperate trees (i.e. grown in neither very hot nor very cold climates), new wood is formed each year in a layer outside the wood of the previous year. The layers of wood, as seen on the cut end of a felled tree, are circular and are called annual rings. Each ring in the trunk of the wood represents one year of the tree’s life. In a year of good rainfall, the ring formed is wider than one formed in. the drier year. A record of rainfall can thus be read in tree rings.
2. Trees are important to our world for a number of reasons. Like all green plants, they build up their food by the process known as photosynthesis . The by-product of this process is oxygen which human beings and other animals take from the atmosphere as they breathe. That is why the great forests have been called the “lungs of the world”. They make much of the oxygen we need to live.
3. Trees are living things like man and animals, they too feel pleasure and joy as well as pain, therefore should not be destroyed. Today due to the destruction of forests, mercilessly we are suffering from its consequence. We celebrate the Republic Day every year on 26th of January. This year we were asked to reach the school at 7-30 in the morning. All the students assembled on the school playgroud. We were asked to stand in rows in front of the flag post. Soon the headmaster and other members of the staff arrived there. The P.T.I. gave a caution to stand at attention. The headmaster hoisted the National flag. We all sang the National anthem. Then there was a short speech by the headmaster. He explained the importance of the day. All the members of the staff and the students took a vow to serve our motherland.
The NCC and NSS cadets participated in the march past and helped to maintain discipline and organise the function.

Recently I had the opportunity of visiting a bank with my father. The bank that I visited was the main branch of State Bank of India, Jabalpur. The bank was opened in a double storey building. There was a guard outside the building whose business was to keep an eye over the visitors. The bank was computerised and there were three cash counters at the ground floor. These counters were meant for monetary transactions. Gne of the counters were meant for the savings account holders, including students and pensioners.
The bank was equipped with fire safety measures, generators, computers and air conditioners. On the other side were several other counters dealing with passbook updation, making drafts, opening accounts, fixed deposit etc. At the right hand, comer is customer help desk counter where one may get a satisfactory answer of his queries.
On the first floor, there was Branch Manager’s cabin. The Branch Manager was Mr. Rajneesh Sood. He was a well behaved man with fine personality and pleasing communication skills. Besides this there were several other sections dealing with loans like home loan, car loan, personal loan, education loan etc. the diaty section that maintains a record of daily transactions of the bank.
The manager took me around with him and showed me the strong room of the bank made with very heavy iron doors. It was protected by a high alert security system. It meant for keeping cash. The manager also showed me the locker room. There were many lockers in this room each having a number. The customers willing to avail locker facility can keep their jewellery, documents and other valuable items here safely.
There was a huge crowd present in the bank. Everyone was busy. People were depositing and withdrawing cash, buying insurance policies, opening new accounts, taking loans and enquiring about their accounts. The bank staff was too busy catering to the needs of customers.

Jawahar Lal Nehru was bom on 14 Nov, 1889. He was bom to Motilal Nehru and Swaroop Rani in a Kashmiri Pandit family. He was educated in India and Britain. In England, he attended the Independent boy’s school, Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge.
On 7th February, 1916, he was married to Kamla Nehru. In the first year of marriage, she gave birth to Indira Priyadarshini. Being a son of wealthy barrister and politician he soon became the leader of the left wing of the Congress. He later rose to be Congress President under the guidance of Gandhiji. He was a radical leader who advocated complete independence or ‘Pooma Swaraj’ for India from the British Empire. In the long struggle for Indian independence, he was recognised by Gandhiji as his political successor. Nehruji also led an interim govt, that faced opposition from the Muslim League headed by Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Thus, failing to strike a coalition, he supported the partition of India.
On 15th August, 1947 he took office as the Prime Minister of India and delivered his famous speech ‘A Tryst with Destiny’. However, this period was marked by communal violence. He conducted several, tours and encouraged Muslims to remain in India. Under his leadership, the Congress won a overwhelming, majority in the elections of 1952. He served as the Prime Minister of India till 1964 and is the longest serving Prime Minister of India. He was also the founder of Non Aligned movement and was an important figure in international politics in the post war era.

The banker was of the opinion that death was better than life imprisonment but the lawyer disagreed and claimed that it was better to live some how than not to live at all. The banker challenged the lawyer two millions if he would stay in solitary confinement for five years. The lawyer accepted the bet and declared that he would stay for fifteen years. The agreement was drawn up. The banker locked the lawyer in the garden wing of his house. During the first year, the prisoner suffered from loneliness and depression and read light books and played on piano.
From second to fifth year he ate, drank and rested. In the sixth year he began to read zealously, he read immense quantity of books on natural sciences, poetry, chemistry, medicine, novel philosophy and theology. He read lot of books of philosophical and religious, which gave him wisdom. From these hooks he learnt and understood that freedom, life, health are worthless. The world is illusion. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was born to Jainulabdeen and Ashiamma on October 15, 1931. He came from a family whose financial condition weren’t sound enough. Tiruchirappalli in 1954 but was not satisfied with his degree. He left for Madras to study Aerospace Engineering. He enrolled at the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT).
His contribution to India as a scientist was immensely at the Indian Space Research Organization was immense. He was responsible for numerous projects such as Project Devil and Project Valiant and launch of the ‘Rohini-I’, besides developing missiles under the missions ‘Agni’ and ‘Prithvi’ For the same. He was popularly tagged as the “Missile man of India”. Kalam was honored with great laurels and awards for his work by both the Government of India and other countries.
Kalam served as the 11th president of India from 2002 until 2007. One amongst the most respected people of the country and became the first citizen of India. With his appointment Kalam the first scientist and first ever bachelor to occupy the Rashtrapati Bhawan. During his tenure as a President, Kalam as both appreciated and criticised.
