लेखिका की दान प्राप्त करने की आरंभिक गर्व की अनुभूति आश्चर्य और सदमें में क्यों परिवर्तित हो गये जब उसने उन थैलों को खोला जिनमें वो भरे हुए थे?

When the writer opened the bags, she found that they were filled with almost all kind of domestic junk at which were fit only to be thrown into dust bins. Therefore, her initial feeling of pride changed into shock and surprise on opening those bags.

What is the real service of God according to the writer’s grand mother? (Imp.)
लेखिका की दादी माँ के अनुसार ईश्वर की सच्ची सेवा क्या है?
Answer:
According to the writer’s grand mother service to the poor was service to God. She used to say if you serve the poor with whatever you have, you have served god. She believed if you wish to give something to somebody, give the best in you. God is not in the places of worship but with the poor people.
लेखिका की दादी माँ के अनुसार गरीबों की सेवा ही ईश्वर की सेवा है। वे कहा करती थीं यदि उसने गरीबों की सेवा की जो कुछ भी तुम्हारे पास है उससे तो तुमने ईश्वर की सेवा की है। वे विश्वास करती थीं कि यदि तुम किसी को कुछ देना चाहते हो, तो जो भी तुममें (तुम्हारे पास) सर्वश्रेष्ठ है उसे दो। ईश्वर पूजा स्थलों में नहीं बल्कि गरीब लोगों के साथ है।
