Mamta was ill-treated by her classmates because she was a small town girl. Most of the girls came from rich families. She was too low in status by their standards.
ममता के सहपाठियों द्वारा उससे बुरा व्यवहार किया जाता था क्योंकि वह एक छोटे शहर की लड़की थी। अधिकांश लड़कियाँ धनी परिवारों से थीं। उनके मानक के अनुसार वह बहुत ही निचले (सामाजिक, आर्थिक) स्तर की थी।

Answer:

Mamta’s team made history by reaching to the finals and winning it too. They had been participating in the competition for long but had never ever made up even to finals also.
ममता की टीम ने फाइनल पहुँचकर और उसे जीतकर इतिहास बना दिया था। वे प्रतियोगिता में लंबे समय से भाग ले रहे थे पर कभी उसके फाइनल तक पहुँच भी नहीं पाये थे।

What made Mamta a good basketball player?
किस चीज ने ममता को अच्छा बास्केटबाल खिलाड़ी बनाया?
Answer:
When Mamta was selected for the school’s Basketball team, the other girls opposed it. They said that she had never played Basketball earlier. They feared that her presence will weaken the team and they would not be able to win the trophy. Mamta accepted it as a challenge and started practising Basketball. The snide remarks from the teammates made her more resolute. Thus she became a good Basketball player.

If I were a coach I too would treat in the same way like Mamta’s coach. I too would identify the good qualities of a player without considering the status or past record. I would support the good player against all odds and guide the player to give her best performance.
